Philippines Overseas Labor Office (POLO)

The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) has the mission of ensuring the welfare of Filipino workers abroad. This process must be done in collaboration with a local partner in the Philippines. This final stage will usually take another 2 weeks, for a total of approximately 4 weeks from start to finish.

At Recruit Without Borders, we have extensive experience handling the application process with both Migrant Workers Offices in Canada, namely Vancouver and Toronto.

This is a dual process. First, the employer must be accredited with the Migrant Workers Office (MWO), a branch of the Consulate of the Philippines. This process will generally take about two weeks.

Once accredited, the original application, as approved by the MWO, is then sent to our local partner in Manila for finalization. The worker is then required to attend a pre-departure meeting and obtain an “exit visa” or clearance to leave the country.

If you have obtained a work permit for a Filipino worker and need assistance with the POLO process, we can help!
